Email Scam Reported

Dear Giants Neck Beach neighbors and friends:

There have been several reports of spam emails being sent to in Page Heslin's name as President of the GNBA.  The subject of the email was The Giants Neck Beach Association.  The content of the email states that she is looking for gift cards for COVID-19 relief.

This email is a scam and should be ignored. Because we haven't gotten to the bottom of this issue, including which email address this scam is originating from, please feel free to forward any suspicious emails to, so we continue to investigate.  Otherwise, please ignore and change your email's password if it makes you feel more secure.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

PWC Hosts Pop-Up Sale of GNBA Logo Items on August 15!

The Pattagansett Women's Club is hosting a pop-up sale of GNBA logo gear on:

SATURDAY, August 15, 2020

9:00 am - 11:00 am

Items on hand are long-sleeve adult t-shirts, women's tank tops, youth short-sleeve t-shirts, note cards, and coasters.

Additionally, the PWC is taking orders for 1/4 zip sweatshirts and hats with the logo embroidered on them and, new this year, crew neck sweatshirts with GIANTS NECK printed on the front. Orders placed and paid for before August 20th will be delivered before Labor Day. We will have sweatshirts and hat samples so members can see the color, size and quality. To place your order, fill out the form, here

In addition, the PWC has been supporting the Covenant Shelter in New London (a family shelter). The director asked for donations of disposable masks but understands that this will be a difficult item for us to get.  She also requested paper goods again (plates, cups, napkins, paper towels, etc.). If members would like to donate, you can bring items to the pop-up sale this Saturday, or drop them at Robin Knowles' house, 8 Griswold Rd.

Please wear a mask and try to maintain 6' distance from your neighbors. Cash and checks (payable to PWC) will be accepted.

Thank you,
The PWC Board

Bathing Water Sampling Results

Ledge Light Health District conducted bathing water sampling on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 and all bathing water samples were below the bacterial action levels set by the State of Connecticut except Highland Park in the Town of Ledyard, L&M Beach and Greens Harbor in the City of New London, and Lords Point Beach in the Town of Stonington.  Areas with significant bacteria results will be re-sampled on Friday, May 25, 2018.  Results of the re-sample(s) will be forwarded as soon as they become available.  Please be aware that rain or other contamination events occurring before the Wednesday morning sampling can lead to elevated bacterial counts, especially in bathing areas with storm water runoff (storm drain pipes or extensive impervious surfaces) or low water turnover (inland bathing areas).  We recommend those individuals responsible for the bathing areas take these events into consideration.
